Hotel:
There are dozens of excellent value hotels in Rome for these dates, to achieve the £183pp figure the recommended hotel would be Mellini 39 B&B.

Castel Sant’Angelo Inn – £276
This extremely well reviewed inn (4.8/5.0) is situated on the other side of the Tiber river in a 5 minute walking distance to Vatican. To make this stay even better value for money, included within the rate is free luggage storage, free wifi and daily breakfast served in your room.

Though not directly central, this is a perfect location to reach everything on foot, with the furthest attraction (Colosseum) may be 20-30minutes away.

Rhonda’s Rooms – £285
Rhonda’s Rooms is a small B&B in an tradition style town-house. There is not a reception at the hotel, but details are provided with telephone numbers etc. to coordinate breakfast and meet any needs you may have. The building is situated on Via dei Condotti, one of the most fashionable streets in Rome, which leads directly to the Spanish steps.

Mellini 39 B&B and Apartments – £207+
If there is more than two in your party, or you do not want to sleep through the noise of the city centre, this little B&B on the other side of the Tiber river may be the perfect solution. These apartments are great value for money, especially the larger rooms. All rooms / apartments have their own kitchenette.

  • Classic Loft – 1 Bedroom, Courtyard Area – Sleeps 2 – £207
  • Classic Apartment – 2 Bedrooms – Sleeps 4 – £263
  • Apartment – 1 Bedroom – Sleeps 5 – £283
  • Annex Building Apartment – 2 Bedrooms – Sleeps 7 – £319

Navona Apartments – Caravaggio area – £226
The Navona hotel consists of seven individual apartments and is a stone’s throw away from Rome’s Piazza Navona – hence the name. Unlike the other hotels discussed so far, this is on a room-only basis.

  • Studio – 2 Sofa Beds – Sleeps 3 – £226
  • Apartment – 1 bedroom, 1 double, 1 sofa bed – Sleeps 3 – £249
  • Apartment – 2 bedrooms, 1 double, 3 single, 1 sofa bed – Sleeps 6 – £410

Night and Day – £219
The Night and Day hotel is brilliant value for money, perfectly located in-between Trevi Foundation and the Spanish Steps – the only downside is that you would have to share a bathroom. Again this is a room only rate, but you couldn’t ask for a better placement in room for less than £75pn.
